Transform your reception area with entrance matting
We all know that first impressions count, and that these first impressions will be made almost straight away. Your commercial premises is no different, with customers and potential clients all getting their first impression of your business from your entrance and reception area. So how can you ensure that they’re left with a positive one?
Entrance matting systems
Invest in entrance matting to transform your commercial spaces entrance aesthetically, as well as providing a practical solution for an area that is subject to heavy footfall. Being one of the first features that someone will notice when visiting your premises, it’s important to have high quality matting which looks the part and is suited to your buildings interior style.
Practical
Matting also has a practical use for an entrance area; removing dirt from shoes keeps your environment clean and safe, and the strong grip of matting prevents people from slipping over. Matting also helps to improve the indoor air quality, stopping dirt and moisture being brought in from outside.

2018 brings with it a host of new flooring styles for both the home and commercial space. 2017’s focus on extreme colours has carried on over to 2018. Both ultra-light and ultra-dark colours are the go to for flooring, with not much of anything in between – with an exception for grey.
Grey still shows no sign of going anywhere. Its versatility is a big factor in its popularity, with a huge spectrum of shades to choose from. You can have both a subtle, light shade or a striking dark one, all from the same colour.
Carpet is also set to remain a mainstay of flooring, with advances in technology leading to better carpet options than ever before. Waterproof carpets are now available, giving the look and comfort of carpet with the advantages that were before only available with vinyl flooring.
Vinyl is still growing in popularity, due to its versatile looks which can mimic wood and stone along with its durability and waterproof properties. It’s also one of the most affordable flooring options, often with the cheapest cost when compared to the materials that it imitates.
As always, one more thing to consider is how much a current or new style will hold up a little way down the line. Your flooring is going to last you years, so consider how much the style you go for will be appropriate in the years to come – don’t be afraid to go with current styles, but styles with a timeless feel to them are always a good option. Thankfully, a lot of these flooring trends are continuations of lasting trends which all have a subtle and timeless look to them whilst still being varied enough so that there’s something for everyone.
At RW Hall flooring, we offer a huge range of flooring options, so there’s something for everyone. If you’re looking to update your flooring for the new year, then look no further than RW Hall – get in touch today, take a visit to our showroom in Ipswich for a look at our full range, or have a browse of our website for a full look at our services and products.
These days, vinyl flooring is the most popular choice of flooring for many commercial spaces. A versatile material at an affordable price, the rise of vinyl’s popularity shows no sign of slowing down in 2018. We’ve compiled the benefits of vinyl flooring for your business, and why it wins over laminate.
One of the biggest benefits of vinyl flooring is it’s waterproof properties, which over the years has made it the number one choice for working environments which are at risk of spills or are in environments prone to moisture, with aesthetics being a second thought. However, vinyl flooring is now available in a variety of designs, formats, colours and textures, even being printed to look like hardwood and stone, so your flooring can look the way you want it to as well as having all of the benefits of vinyl.
Even the most premium vinyl flooring is more cost effective than other options, with cost per tile or square meter is considerably lower than other common options such as laminate or hardwood.
The easy maintenance of vinyl flooring has long been one of its main selling points. Any spills or dirt can be wiped up and cleaned with warm water, and properly installed vinyl flooring will have no seams and is completely waterproof. On the other hand, laminate flooring is not completely waterproof, and general maintenance will be slightly trickier with moisture affecting the integrity of the flooring over time.
When properly maintained, vinyl flooring has the potential to last upwards of ten to twenty years. This, combined with the other benefits of diverse looks, low cost, and ease of maintenance, make vinyl flooring the best choice for your business.
It’s easy to see why vinyl wins over laminate for your business flooring. Whilst laminate may have its own benefits, these are mostly all more applicable to other uses, such as in the home. When it comes to commercial spaces which need a floor which is durable, easy to maintain, and looks good, then vinyl flooring is the best option.
At RW Hall, our highly skilled team has years of experience in preparing and installing floors for a variety of commercial and residential clients. To discover the flooring possibilities for your business, take a visit to our Ipswich showroom, and get in touch with our friendly team if you have any enquires.
Maintaining your safety flooring is paramount to keeping people in your premises safe. You may be handling potentially dangerous chemicals, or you may have a high potential for spill risk; whatever the reason for needing safety flooring, maintaining it is essential.
Thorough and regular cleaning is essential to ensuring that your flooring is maintained to the standards needed for everyone’s safety. As well as being hygienic, a properly cleaned floor will continue to perform correctly. It’s important to make sure you know what you’re cleaning and the best way to deal with it. For example, cleaning up soluble mess such as salt or detergents is generally easier as this will dissolve in water. However, you’re more likely to come across insoluble mess, such as glass or plastic fragments. These can be vacuumed or swept with relative ease; when dealing with other insoluble substances such as oil, more thorough measures will be needed to take care of the mess, such as using the correct solution or detergent.
Ensuring that dirt excluders and matts are installed at every entrance to an area with safety flooring will stop dirt being carried in on people’s shoes. These matts themselves should also be regularly cleaned to preserve their effectiveness.
To summarise, the best ways to maintain your safety flooring is to protect it when it’s initially installed, regularly and thoroughly clean any spills using the correct equipment and procedures, and ensuring that outside dirt is kept away.
